If you’ve ever dreamed of what a relaxed wedding day, done your way, would feel like, Sarah and Matt pulled it off! Imagine feeling super chill, hanging with your favorite people and your puppies all day, and add some really pretty flowers in a farm meets Tuscan outdoor dinner venue. This is the beautiful day that Sarah and Matt created for their wedding.
Sarah and her best friends got ready in the quaint cottage house and did each other’s hair and makeup. Let me tell you, they are pros! Chatting and sipping champs, the morning was relaxed and fun. The bridal party wore a combination of Show Me Your Mumu satin dresses in champagne and navy suits. Sarah chose a sleek, ivory off the shoulder dress from BHLDN. Her wedding gown was simple and elegant with beautiful detailing across the chest. Sarah wore her grandmother’s necklace, a sentimental piece that every bride in the family has worn on their wedding day. She wore her hair down in loose waves and completed her look with flats and a cathedral length veil. She looked amazing, relaxed and chic.
The guys got ready in a separate area on the venue property where they hung out, had drinks and played bags. The vibe was super chill and everyone was having a good time.
Sarah and Matt shared a sweet first look as their parents and wedding party looked on from a distance. We took some photographs of the couple and family afterwards and then it was time to get married!
The outdoor wedding ceremony was simply beautiful at Poplar Hill Estate. This wedding venue is significant to the couple because bride’s family is friends with the venue owners. Her mother grew up in the house next door. All the neighborhood kids would hang out and play in the exact barn where the reception was held.
There were several, very personal touches included throughout Sarah and Matt’s day, in memory of others. Sadly, Sarah’s father passed away but was remembered every step of the way. His unmistakable presence was felt by all throughout the entire day. Sarah’s brothers walked her down the aisle while a string quartet played XO by Beyoncé. Her mother was the wedding officiant and offered humorous and heartfelt words, joining the couple in matrimony. Sarah and Matt’s pups were at the wedding, walked down the aisle like such good doggies and were even a little boisterous during the ceremony, adding to the collective laughter. Rings were exchanged that were made locally by a family member out of their home shop in Lakeview NY. Tears were shed during the emotional wedding ceremony and welcome laughter poured through everyone in attendance.
After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed cocktails in the barn and outdoors. White tents housed long, wooden tables adorned with white linens and pretty florals. Swings and bubbles entertained the children and some adults!
Dinner was followed by an incredible dessert table and first dances. The party got started in the barn once the sun went down. The wedding party, parents and guests crowded the dance floor, singing and dancing all night. This wedding was a really good time!
Sarah and Matt, we felt so honored to have had the privilege to serve you on your wedding day and meet your amazing family and friends. We were so happy to be a small part of your big day. Wishing you all the happiness in the world! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Muzzy!
