Where would you like to have your session? This is a question we as photographers are constantly asking our clients. I don’t expect you to have to make this decision alone!
The location we choose for your session truly depends on the look and feel your are hoping for in your images. What feels right for your family? Do you imagine a wooded area, maybe you are most comfortable near your home, something on the water, beautiful ivy, enjoying your family in your living room, maybe sunset on the beach or a historical landmark? The options are endless and can be overwhelming. I will help you narrow your choices and find the right location for your family session during this season!
The curation of your family’s wardrobe will also be coordinated with upon the location we select to ensure continuity within your images. Some locations look different through the camera lens during different times of the day. My favorite times to photograph families outdoors is during golden hour, which is the 2 hours after sunrise or before sunset. I love this time for the softer, golden, glowy light that illuminates everything while the sun is lower in the sky.
I also understand that young children often have early bed times and sometimes do better earlier in the morning or maybe after an afternoon nap. This is something to consider when scheduling your family session. It is better to have a happy baby and find a little shade, or meet earlier or later for the smoothest experience!
