Maybe you’re like me and have visions of transcendent imagery with your children clad in linen, skipping along the beach in front of the summer cottage.
I also experienced what it's like to turn up empty when coaxing my kids into ethereal imagery. Often a child dresses himself in his favorite spider man t-shirt and refuses to brush his hair or we get in the linen outfits and somehow one child is suddenly covered in chocolate.
As mothers we can plan, adapt and even bring a little bit of the chaos into our imagery. I have created a beginner photography course to help you photograph your children honestly & beautifully.
Some of my favorite images to look back on are the photographs where my plans went out the window. We kept it fun and the personalities of my children radiated in the beautiful summer evening light. It is more than the linen or the cottage, it is them… their laughs, pouts, and play.

Do I have the right camera?
You can use a DSLR or mirrorless camera, it doesn’t really matter the make or model! Only have your iphone? We do discuss specific camera settings, however, each module contains prompts for you to photograph your children authentically.
I'm so busy, I don't think i'll have time...
Each module is short enough to read during nap time, while nursing, or after the kids go to bed. Lessons include prompts that allow you to practice while spending time with your children. You will begin to look at snack time, park time, bath time and other sometimes mundane situations as inspiration!
My kids will never cooperate?!
They don’t need to. During this beginner photography course, you will not need to ask your children to stare at your camera and say cheese EVER! Prompts are designed to be directed through child play, interactive, fun and documentary.
I'm nervous to post my work in the group
You are not alone. It is not mandatory to post your work, but recommended. Posting in the group makes you accountable to do the assignment. We are inspired by each other’s work and here to uplift one another. Art is subjective. Each person will be drawn to something different. It is exciting to see how each person interprets a lesson and how they are able to capture their children. Don’t be shy, we want to see life through your lens!

She began with a camera she bought on eBay and quickly became one of the most sought after newborn photographers in the WNY area. Cassandra’s work has been honored in The Knot Magazine, The Fount Collective, The Bump, Le Pache Journal and The Kindred Path.
Cassandra Boryszak is the Founder of Motherhood Inspired, a collective of purpose driven mothers that curates uplifting experiences in creativity and community.
As an educator, Cassandra understands the importance of storytelling through imagery. Cassandra’s teachings have been featured in the exclusive Belle Lumiere Magazine, Orlando Voyager Magazine and she is recognized as an Artsy Couture Pro. She helps photographers refine their craft and find their unique voice.
