Your family right now will never look quite the same again. The kids will grow, schedules will shift, and someday you will wish you had one more photo of this particular season, everyone together, just as they were.
As an Orlando family photographer, that is exactly what I help families hold onto. If you are planning a family photoshoot in Orlando for 2026 and want to know what the experience actually looks like from booking to finished artwork, here is everything to expect.
Why Families Are Choosing a Guided, Full-Service Experience in 2026
A family session should not feel like one more item on your to-do list. Between coordinating outfits, getting everyone out the door on time, and hoping the toddler cooperates, family photos have a reputation for being stressful, and most of that stress comes from families being left to plan everything themselves.
A true full-service family photography experience flips that. The wardrobe is handled. The location is chosen together. The styling, the pacing of the session, even the final artwork on your walls, all of it is guided so your family’s only job on the day is to show up and actually enjoy being together.
This matters more in 2026 than ever. Families are busier, schedules are fuller, and the appetite for sessions that feel effortless rather than exhausting keeps growing.
Your Experience Begins With a Personal Consultation
Before we ever talk about cameras or locations, we talk about your family. I want to know how many of you there will be, the ages of your children, your personalities, and what feels most like you. This consultation shapes everything that follows.
From there, a few things happen automatically:
- A welcome box arrives at your door, because the lead up to your session should feel exciting, not stressful
- You gain access to my curated client wardrobe for mothers and babies and personal styling for the whole family so outfits are taken care of
- I design your session around your family specifically, rather than handing you a generic template
- A gallery reveal and ordering appointment is scheduled in your home after your session
- Gallery wall design is complimentary, so you can see your portraits in your space before deciding on anything
- For families local to Orlando, finished artwork is delivered and installed in your home
By the time your session arrives, the only thing left to do is show up as your family.
I Personally Style Your Family
One of the biggest sources of family photo stress is wardrobe, especially when you are trying to coordinate outfits for a partner, multiple kids, and yourself all at once. I take that off your hands entirely.
Rather than spending hours online shopping, or dragging everyone to the mall for outfits, I style your family, taking your location and your home decor into consideration. Mothers and babies have access to my client wardrobe, full of timeless and flattering dresses and coordinating pieces chosen specifically because they photograph beautifully. Together, we will select colors and textures that work across every age and every personality in your family. You are welcome to browse my what to wear guide for general inspiration, but the real work of pulling your family’s look together happens with me, not on your own.
Hair and Makeup Comes to You
Family sessions usually mean mom is the one trying to get everyone else photo ready while also somehow getting herself ready, and that often means she ends up the most overlooked person in the whole process. I do not let that happen here.
Professional hair and makeup is included for mom. My preferred artist comes directly to your home before the session begins. While the rest of the family is getting dressed and settled, you get a few minutes to feel pampered and pulled together, so you are not just present in the photos, you actually feel good being in them.
Choosing the Right Setting for Your Family
Every family has a different rhythm, and the right location reflects that. Some families feel most like themselves at home, surrounded by the everyday details of their actual life: the kitchen table, the back porch, the hallway your kids race down every morning. Others prefer a meaningful outdoor location around Central Florida, whether that is a quiet park, a favorite trail, or golden light along the coast.
There is no single right answer here. The location is chosen together during your consultation, based on what genuinely fits your family rather than what looks good on a portfolio. This is motherhood and family photography built around your real life, not a borrowed backdrop.
What Actually Happens During a Family Session
Family sessions are typically about 45-60 minutes, long enough to capture a full range of images without exhausting younger children, (or dad!). Most of the best images come from real interaction, tickles, piggyback rides, a toddler refusing to look at the camera, a teenager actually laughing instead of smirking through it. If you have little ones, bringing a favorite toy or a small snack helps. Choosing a location that is meaningful for your family or planning something fun to experience during the session or afterward, like ice cream, gives everyone something to look forward to and keeps the mood light throughout.
Your Gallery Reveal and Ordering Appointment
Roughly three to four weeks after your session, I come to your home for your personalized gallery reveal. All purchasing and ordering happens during this single appointment, so I recommend that any decision makers in your household, both parents especially, plan to be present together.
We sit down and watch your complete gallery as a slideshow set to music, which is honestly one of my favorite parts of the entire process. From there, I personally guide you through choosing your favorite images, deciding which ones become framed wall art and which belong in an heirloom album, and we finalize everything together. Gallery wall design is complimentary, so before you commit to a single print, you can actually see how a grouping would look above your sofa or up your stairwell.
Turning Your Family Portraits Into Artwork
A finished gallery of digital files was never really the point. The point is what happens after: framed prints that hang somewhere your family walks past every day, or a hand bound album your kids will eventually pull off the shelf themselves.
Every piece of artwork is custom designed based on your home and your space, and it arrives ready to display. Local frame installation is complimentary, so there is no figuring out spacing, hardware, or framing on your own. You can browse the heirloom albums and products to get a sense of what your finished artwork could look like.
Let’s Document Your Family This Year
This exact version of your family, these ages, this stage, will not last. Let’s make sure you have something real to hold onto from it, not just photos on a phone, but artwork you will actually live with.

Frequently Asked Questions About Family Photography in Orlando
How far in advance should we book a family session?
Popular seasons, especially fall and the weeks around the holidays, fill up quickly, so booking six to eight weeks ahead gives you the best chance at your preferred date and time of day.
What should our family wear?
You do not need to plan or purchase outfits ahead of time. Mothers and babies up to size 2T have full access to my curated client wardrobe, and I personally style your entire family to make sure everyone looks cohesive without looking matchy.
Can we do our family session at home instead of outdoors?
Yes. Many of my favorite family sessions happen entirely at home. We choose the setting together during your consultation based on what feels most like your family.
Will hair and makeup be provided?
Yes, professional hair and makeup are included for mothers and comes directly to your home before the session begins.
How long does a family session take?
Most family sessions last about 45-60 minutes, which is enough time to capture a full range of images and the feel of this season, without exhausting younger children, (or dad!).
